Tim Ready

I have received very sad news via the Catalhoyuk team mailing list. Tim Ready, a photographer at the Science Museum of Minnesota--whose photos of team members are reproduced in The Goddess and the Bull has died. Ian gives details below. I only met Tim once in person, but stayed in touch as the book progressed. He was always kind and generous in supplying photographs and arranging permissions from the museum. Here is Ian's message:

"Orrin Shane has written with sad news. He writes:

'It is with a sad heart that I write to tell of the passing of our friend and colleague, Tim Ready. On September 12 Tim collapsed into a coma at his home in
Minnesota from a bleeding aneurysm on his brain. After a little over two weeks in the hospital he seemed to be recovering, but last Thursday I heard he suddenly passed away. Tim is survived by his wife MaryJo and daughter Caela. Tim was a great colleague and friemd, a skilled photographer and a fine museum professional. He will be missed by many.'

Tim was a wonderful, quiet and sensitive man. The portraits he did of the team members will always be the best we have."
